Women in Science at Yale
Women in Science at Yale is a student-run group that organizes mentorship, networking, and educational opportunities for Yale and our extended community. As a board member of WISAY, I have helped organize events including the Women’s Faculty Forum/WISAY luncheon (2017 and 2018) and our annual Women in Science Career Panel (2017). I also write the agendas for our monthly meetings.
Science at Bar
Science at Bar is a fun, educational talk series hosted at a local bar/restaurant featuring presentations by graduate students. I helped organize the 2016 event on the science of dogs, and the 2017 event on the science of attraction and romance.
I love judging science fairs when I get the chance and have twice had the opportunity to judge middle school projects at a local school. In 2017 I presented my work to a panel of middle school judges as part of the Yale Science Diplomat’s “Flipped Science Fair.”
Yale Young Global Scholars
Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is a program that attracts motivated high school students to Yale from around the world. In the summer of 2018, I had the opportunity to present my work to some of these students through a Research Showcase for hundreds of students and a lab tour for a smaller group. I loved the energy and questions from my YYGS students!
